The NSW Organ and Tissue Donation Service (OTDS) and the NSW Health Multicultural Health Communication Service (MHCS) was tasked with implementing the NSW Government Plan 2012 with respect to addressing information gaps, myths and misconceptions about organ and tissue donation among culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

It is widely recognised that people from CALD backgrounds face additional challenges in relation to accessing health information and there is increasing incidence of chronic disease within these communities. Yet historically there have been lower numbers of donors identified from CALD communities.
