2015 Multicultural Health Week

Rights and Responsibilities

Multicultural Health Week is held on the first week of September every year

In 2015, the theme of Multicultural Health Week was "Rights and Responsibilities:  Get Involved in Your Health Care” aimed at increasing awareness of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) consumers, including patients and carers on their rights and responsibilities.

 Key messages:

  Everyone has the right to be able to access healthcare service

  • Encourage people to discuss the rights and responsibilities with healthcare service provider.
  • Patients, consumers, healthcare providers and health service organisation all have an important part to play in achieving healthcare rights and contributing to a safe and high quality healthcare systems.

 

The launch was held on 7th September at NSW Parliament House.
