The Improving Patient & Carer Journey program supports CALD patients and carers to manage their stress and make well-informed decisions regarding their treatment and care options. This includes a brochure that helps navigating the healthcare system and accessing appropriate services.
Bowel Cancer Awareness
Bowel Cancer is the most preventable internal cancer, if caught early. Among those who develop bowel cancer, 4 out of 5 have no known risk factors. Bowel cancer testing aims to identify people who have polpys or early cancer but no risk factors or symptoms. There are two tests available - Faecal Occult Blood Testing (FOBT) and Colonoscopy. A FOBT kit is inexpensive and can be done at home.
